My first drink recipe!  We’ll technically it’s not mine.  Chef Cesar Zapata of The Federal, Food, Drinks and Provisions in Miami created the recipe.  I’m sharing it though!

I attended a Tabasco party during South Beach Wine and Food Festival hosted at The Federal.  During the party, I had the chance to meet the CEO of Tabasco Tony Simmons.  Mr. Simmons chatted with me about the paste that makes Tabasco (did you know it’s 10xs hotter than the final product).  And, how passionate they are about keeping bland products away from your tastebuds.

When I asked him if they had any market research on how many people carry Tabasco in their pockets, he said no and then pulled out a mini bottle!  Yes, the CEO of Tabasco carries a mini Tabasco bottle in his pocket.  But his bottle is far from ordinary.  He has all of his contact information printed on the label.  Now that is cool!

I keep a bottle of Tabasco handy in my kitchen for flavoring beans, meats and dishes that need a little extra kick.  It’s a great product for kicking up the flavors when you’re short on cooking time.

What I never thought of doing was putting Tabasco in my cocktail.  But, Chef Zapata makes it work in the Chipotle Tabasco Passion Punch drink.  The drink gives just the right kick without being too overpowering.  This drink is just right for taco night!
